His work not only reflected his dedication but also his ability to create and nurture relationships built on trust and respect.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Verlin’s interests and hobbies painted a picture of a man who loved life and the natural world. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace at the water’s edge, patiently waiting for the next catch. His artistic side was evident in his passion for cutting gemstones from raw materials, a craft that required precision and patience, both of which he had in abundance. Verlin also shared his love for the water by giving swimming lessons and serving as a lifeguard for the Red Cross. His gentle guidance and kind nature made him a favorite among those he taught.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Verlin will remember him as a loving, kind, and gentle soul. His ability to listen with an open heart, offer wisdom with a soft-spoken voice, and embrace each day with a warm smile will be profoundly missed. Verlin’s life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were touched by his presence.
Verlin’s life will be celebrated in a manner that honors the quiet strength and deep love he held for his family and friends. As we bid farewell to a man of great character and warmth, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through the countless lives he enriched with his love and kindness. Verlin Swanson’s journey on Earth has ended, but his story- a narrative of love, family, and genuine human connection- will be cherished and retold for generations to come.
Honoring his wishes, the family will be having a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties at PO Box 1582, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29304.
