Vern Allan Peterson, of Greenville, South Carolina,  was called to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 12th of January, 2024. Vern was born on the 31st of October, 1938, in the city of Sacramento, California,

Vern was the son of the late George W and Helen E Peterson, and he walked through life with the love and devotion of his dear wife, Claudia Peterson, of 64 years.  He is survived by two daughters Kim (Randy) Chase and Pam Freeland. Vern's legacy continued through his grandchildren, Shelby (Mike) Brummel, Christian Chase, Kendall (Sierra) Chase, Tucker Freeland, Chris (Jenn Maness) Freeland, and KerriAnn Freeland, and great-grandchildren Soren Brummel and Laila Parker. Vern was preceded in death by his brother, Larry (Betsy) Peterson.

Vern was a Journeyman Tool and Dye Maker before becoming a Design Engineer, eventually retiring from Sagem. Vern was not only a member but also a past president of the Striper Kings Fishing Club as well as a member of the Porsche Club of America. Most importantly, Vern was an active member and a past deacon of the Cathedral Community Church.
