Victor Ortiz passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on January 28, 1951, in Coamo, Puerto Rico, Victor was known throughout his life for being loving, kind, friendly, and extraordinarily generous. He possessed a remarkable aptitude for handiwork and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Victor's passion for working on cars was matched only by his deep devotion to his family. He cherished time spent fishing and found great joy in the simple pleasures of life shared with those he loved. Those who knew him remember a man who was approachable, reliable, and generous with both his time and skills.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Santiago, who shared many years of happiness and companionship with Victor. Their children, Ernesto Ortiz, Elizabeth Rivera, and Wilfredo Santa, carry forward his legacy of kindness and love. His grandchildren; Zabriel M Ortiz-Ruiz, Alexi M Ortiz-Ruiz, Kassidy Santa, Kya Santa, and Victor Santa, along with nieces; Jennifer Santiago, Melissa David, and Wanda David, his nephews; Jose Acevedo, his cousins, Joel Ortiz, Juan Ortiz, Marisol Ortiz, Domingo Santiago, Julio Santiago, Augustin Santiago Francisco, Jr., Santiago Armando Santiago, and Brenda Santiago, and his great nieces and nephews; Isadelis Baez, Melanie Baez, Xavielis Rodriguez, Xamiairy Acevedo, Xaimara Acevedo, Omar Rodriguez, Jariel Rivera, and Jermany Rivera, knew him as a caring and supportive presence in their lives. He is also survived by his siblings; Lucelenia Ortiz, Lidia Ortiz, Mercedes Ortiz, and George Ortiz, his aunt; Teresa Nieves, his brothers-in-law; Domingo Santiago, Efrain Santiago, Vicente Santiago, and Jose David, and his sisters-in-law; Isidra Santiago, Carmin Rivera, Eli Santiago honor his memory.
Victor's devotion to family and community was a testament to his character. His willingness to always be there when asked for help left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. As family and friends come together to remember his life, they hold onto the values he embodied: kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.
Though Victor has left this world, the warmth of his spirit and the depth of his love will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy is one of compassion and dedication, a shining example of a life well-lived.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., and the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., at the Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
