Wendy Lynne Rask, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 55. Born on March 13, 1970, in Sioux City, IA, Wendy was a cherished daughter, sister, partner, and stepmother whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
Wendy grew up in the loving embrace of her parents, Lynne and the late Woody Rask. She shared an unbreakable bond with her brother, Woody (Roxanne) Rask, and found joy in the companionship of her life partner, Trey Fischbach. Wendy embraced her role as a stepmother to Simone Owensby and so enjoyed being aunt to her nieces and nephew, Kate, Meg, Olivia, and Ethan. Her special cousin, Mary K. Richards, held a dear place in her heart. She is also survived by her beloved Uncle Gary Hall and Aunt Julieanne Gilmore and Aunt Carol Bjornsen.
Prior moving to Greenville, Wendy worked behind the camera at KTIV Channel 4 in Sioux City. She was a skilled Computer Technician, known for her problem-solving abilities and her dedication to her work and her customers. Her colleagues respected her for her expertise and her collaborative spirit. She loved her job at Call Brady Computer in Travelers Rest.
Beyond her professional life, Wendy was an artist at heart. Her passion for sewing, fabric dying, and music were outlets for her creative spirit. She had a particular affinity for animals, with a soft spot for cats and birds, which she nurtured with tenderness and care. She enjoyed searching for unique silver jewelry, especially rings. Wendy's artistic talents were not only a source of personal fulfillment but also a means to bring beauty into the lives of others. She loved many perfumes but her consistent favorite always was Patchouli a whiff of which will always make us think of her. Wendy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Those who knew Wendy will remember her ability to listen with an open heart, to give without expecting anything in return, and to support her loved ones in times of need. These defined her character. Wendy's presence was a comfort, her laughter a true melody, and her guidance a light.
Wendy's legacy is one of love and selflessness. Her impact on the world is immeasurable, and she will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been graced by her gentle soul. As we bid farewell to Wendy Lynne Rask, we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as it always has. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.
Wendy's memorial service will be Friday December 19 starting at 1:30 pm with a time for sharing followed by a brief service and light refreshments at Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville SC 29611, (864) 269 5073.
