CW4 (Retired) Wilbert A. “Webb” Holley of Greenville, SC, formally of Vienna, WV passed away on September 25 2024 at Home with Kathy by his side.
Wilbert "Webb" was born in Huntington, WV, he was 93. Webb was preceded in death by his parents Russell C. & Gladys A. Holley, and brother CW4 (Retired) Willard G. Holley, his friend and first cousin Gene Hutchins of Wyatt, IN.
Webb was a Korean Veteran; he was with the Berlin call-up and retired after 39 years of combined service from the US Air Force, US Army, and Army National Guard. Webb served as SGM (E9) in the 111th Engineer Group. He was a Flight Operations Sergeant and Crew Chief. He was a civil service employee at the Army Aviation Flight Facility (AASF1) in Williamstown, WV. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 15 in Parkersburg, WV, 25 years in the 40 & 8; Past WV State American Legion Commander that he was so proud of, a life member of the VFW, DAV and a Kentucky Colonel. He volunteered for the VA Clinic in Vienna. Webb moved to Greenville, SC in September 2014. He missed all of our friends dearly; Russ & Judi Holbert, Steve & Linda McCartney, and many more.
Webb is survived by his wife, MSG (retired) Kathy Holley of Greenville, SC, daughter Jo Anna Holley of Vienna, WV, two granddaughters, Jessica Burnside of Mineral Wells WV, and Jamie Barbe of Vienna, WV; nine great-grandchildren, and special niece Peggy (Mike) Gibson of Huntington, WV and dear friend and MAJ (Retired) Robert "Bob" Shy (Martha) of NC.
It was Webb's request and he wished to be cremated and there be no services.
