Listen to Obituary

Wilbur Gene Eddleman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Greenville, SC, at the age of 77. Born on April 23, 1948, Wilbur's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and selflessness.

Wilbur was the beloved son of the late James Fred Eddleman and Blanche Elizabeth Taylor Eddleman. Though his parents and siblings Sylvia Dunham, Thersa Foxworth, James, Doyle, Dwight, and his infant daughter Tabatha Charlene Eddleman predeceased him, their memories and the values they instilled in him lived on through his actions and the lives he touched.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Tina Eddleman, and his children Nicol Sherman, Chip Eddleman, Noah Eddleman, and Nikki Stevenson, who is married to Reggie. Wilbur was a proud grandfather to Ronnie Austin and his wife Katie, Ryan Austin, Hailey Sherman, Will Eddleman, Sandy Eddleman, Tabatha Pickett, Rose Holder, Layton Eddleman, Courtney Carson, and Tyler Carson. His legacy continues to flourish through his 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving sisters Deloris Reeves, married to Phil, Donna Higgins, Freddie Thompson, and his brother David Eddleman, married to Tonya. Wilbur also leaves behind his long time friend Jim Fayssoux(Emily), who will remember the wonderful times they shared.

Wilbur retired from the J.P. Stevens Dunean Plant, where he was a respected member of one of the world's largest textile companies. His work ethic and commitment to his coworkers set a standard for all who knew him.

Outside of work, Wilbur's passions were as generous and nurturing as his spirit. As someone who enjoyed fishing, he found peace by the water, casting lines and sharing stories. The jockey lot was another favorite haunt, where his keen eye for treasures and his love for bartering were well known. Wilbur's love for animals was unmatched; he raised many different kinds, caring for each with a gentle hand and a warm heart.

Above all, Wilbur was a family man. He raised not only his children but also many of his grandchildren, forging special bonds that will be cherished forever. His selfless nature was evident in the way he put others first, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer support. His presence was a comforting constant in the lives of those he loved.

Wilbur's character was the embodiment of love and kindness. His selfless acts and warm demeanor left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

As we bid farewell to Wilbur, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of love, laughter, and the joy of giving. His memory will be held in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Wilbur Eddleman's legacy of love and selflessness will endure, a beacon of light for generations to come.
