William Bruce Arnold passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025 in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was born on September 1, 1931, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He also lived in Florida in Vero Beach, Clearwater, Interlachen, and Tallahassee. He was full of a enthusiatic love of life, diverse interests and a commitment to service in the Episcopal Church.

William received a B.S. in Commerce from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he graduated in 1955. He furthered his education through graduate studies in educational administration at Florida State University in Tallahasse, Florida. His career in educational administration spanned several decades. William served as the Vice President of Administration at Indian River College in Fort Pierce, Florida, and held the position of Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Putman County, Florida.

A man of many interests, William embraced life's adventures with enthusiasm, traveling extensively and planning intricate itineraries that reflected his love of exploration. He was known not only for his travels but also for his culinary passion, enjoying the process of cooking and trying new foods. William’s playful spirit shone through his performances as a clown for children’s benefits, bringing joy and laughter to many young hearts. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed canoeing and exploring.

In addition to his professional achievements and hobbies, William remained actively involved in his church community as a deacon, most recently at the Church of the Resurrection in Greenwood. Not perfect, he tried to express love and forgiveness for those around him. His appreciation for the arts included his participation in the performing arts, beginning with theater in college and later in life as a clown, where he found joy in connecting with others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Simmons Arnold. He is survived by his three children, Penelope M. Gianelli (spouse Peter Gianelli), Elizabeth A. Earman ( spouse Joseph Earman), and William A. Arnold (spouse Janet Arnold), his six grandchildren, Gabrielle A. Gianelli (spouse Jon Thornton), Peter M. Gianelli, J. Benjamin Earman, Samuel M. Earman, Astreid E. Arnold, Konrad M. Arnold, one great-granddaughter, Marlee E. Earman, and his first wife, Marlowe E. Olson Arnold.

William is remembered by all who knew him for his vibrant nature, and his interesting conversations that left a lasting impression. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his community, friends, and the lives he touched. As we celebrate his life, we hold dear his memories which will not be forgotten.
