William "Ty" Ennis, a cherished member of the Greenville community, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on May 3, 1955, in Durham, North Carolina, William led a life defined by love, thoughtfulness, and passion. He dedicated many years to the textile industry, ultimately retiring with pride and a wealth of experiences to reflect upon.
A devoted family man, William is survived by his beloved wife, Barbra Ennis, and their son: William Evans. He also leaves behind his siblings, Cherri Barnett, Dale Ennis, Sharon Harvley, David Ennis, and Curtis Ennis, who will always remember him for his friendly demeanor and unwavering faith. Additionally, William was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, reveling in the joys his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought to his life, alongside a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Throughout his life, William remained actively engaged with his community, being a devoted member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through both joys and challenges.
An ardent sports enthusiast, William had a particular passion for watching NASCAR racing, and he was a staunch supporter of the Clemson Tigers, relishing every moment spent watching games, especially in baseball and football.
William was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Jacqueline, and daughter, Tammy Davenport, whose memory he carried with love throughout his life. His legacy, marked by kindness and passion, will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
